Aeroplex/Aerolease Group—a leading aviation property development, management and consulting firm—is pleased to welcome two new California State University Los Angeles (CSULA) alumni hires to its growing team of professionals. Bringing a fresh perspective and strong educational aviation background, they will provide new insights through innovative ways to achieve the company’s objectives.

The CSULA aviation program has developed tremendous successes and grown immensely through the past several years, with a variety of students now working locally in the Los Angeles area. Many of the adjunct professors, who also work locally, have established a connection to the University through their coaching and played an instrumental role in guiding students to success. Curt Castagna, President and CEO who has taught in the CSULA program for over thirty years; has had a heavy impact on guiding past graduates from the CSULA Aviation department currently employ two graduates now, Luis Trujillo, C.M. and Muhammad Abdallah.

As the Aeroplex/Aerolease Group evolves, we have added two new CSULA graduates to the team, Pedro Zuñiga and Maria Marroquin. Pedro will be a Facilities Manager, based in Santa Monica and Maria, an Administrative & Marketing Specialist, will be based in Long Beach assisting with the administrative functions, community and tenant engagement through marketing platforms across each of the locations for the Aeroplex/Aerolease Group.

Marroquin, 23, has proven her passion in the Aviation industry through her participation in CSULA’s American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Student Chapter. In her prior position as the Events Coordinator, she helped lead the Chapter to achieve the highest amount of student registrations the Chapter has ever had. Earning her Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation Administration, Maria gained a great deal of knowledge in Marketing, General Aviation, and Management, and will now have the opportunity to apply her knowledge and skills to Aeroplex/Aerolease Group. Prior to joining Aeroplex/Aerolease Group, she served as a Community and Administration Support Worker for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) where she helped assist in the noise department. Through her participation and ambition, Maria will serve as a great insert to the Aeroplex/ Aerolease team.

Zuñiga, 23, recently graduated from CSULA, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Aviation Administration. Prior to joining Aeroplex/Aerolease Group, Pedro worked at Compton Airport where he gained crucial experience in airport operations, security, quality control of an aviation fuel farm, as well as maintaining a good tenant relationship between the Los Angeles County and Airport users. All while maintaining his studies as an undergrad, Pedro was also an intern for LAWA , working directly under the Airside Operations construction desk, where he coordinated airfield closures and maintenance requests. Through his attitude and work ethic, Pedro will be a splendid addition to Aeroplex/Aerolease team.

Through its newest addition to its team, Aeroplex/Aerolease Group has benefited from the impact it continues to have in the University’s program . Aeroplex/Aerolease Group continues to sponsor the CSULA Student Chapter and other’s at industry events, and feels strongly about giving back to a foundation of working professionals.
